SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Today, Commissioner Kevin Morrison announced historic grassroots fundraising numbers in his campaign for Congress in Illinois’ 8th district. As candidates file quarterly reports with the FEC, Morrison announced 2,668 individual donations to his campaign to date. A whopping 92% of his contributions are under $500, and over half are under $50. These numbers reflect the robust grassroots campaign his fundraising operation has in place, which also include 75% of contributions coming from within Illinois.

As Commissioner, Morrison’s tireless drive and commitment to working collaboratively have earned him the unwavering trust of the community, and his grassroots movement is reflected in the over 180 endorsements his campaign has received from local elected officials and community leaders, the most of any candidate vying for an open congressional seat across the state.

“As we continue the fight to combat corporate greed and ‘The Darling of Wall Street’ in this campaign, as well as four other multi-millionaires attempting to buy this seat, I have been humbled by the groundswell of support from everyday people across the district - working class moms, dads, grandparents chipping in what they can to support a change candidate we desperately need”, Morrison said. “In contrast to many of my opponents, I am not self-funding this campaign, nor did I move into the district to run. My sole focus in Congress will be to represent the hard working families from the communities where I grew up.”

With the March 17th primary election less than seven weeks away, Morrison’s team is taking his message directly to voters - on the phones, door to door, and in mailboxes, and his record of accomplishments is resonating with voters across the district looking for a new generation of leadership in Washington.
